The Village of Cross Plains is now accepting applications for the position of Village Administrator/Economic Development & Tourism Director. Located in close proximity and lying west of Wisconsin’s capital city of Madison, Cross Plains is a growing village with a rich history and friendly people. The Village is governed by the Village Board of Trustees, which include the Village President and six Village Trustees who are elected to two-year terms on a non-partisan basis. $9.2M total annual budget including the General Fund ($2.9M), Library Fund, CIP, TID, Debt Service, and Enterprise Funds. 27 FT and 50 part-time/seasonal employees.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of integrity; a strong work ethic (commitment to public service); open and positive communication skills, municipal facilities planning and management, and possess a team building approach in addressing community issues and problems. The incoming Village Administrator will have the support of an experienced and dedicated staff; and will lead exciting projects like planning and construction of a new Village Hall and Police Department, implementation of the Village’s Sustainability Plan, helping to building a regional trial system, and continued redevelopment of the Village’s core downtown area.
Salary $80,000-$88,000 plus benefits, DOQ. A $5,000 annual salary incentive will be provided if the employee elects to reside within the Village. Require Bachelor’s degree in public administration, finance, planning or a related field; prefer Master’s Degree with at least five years municipal experience and at least one year of supervisory experience.
