[ARCHIVED] Drug Take Back Day

Drug Take Back Day 10-29-22

Far too often, unused and expired medications find their way into the wrong hands. Bringing your unused and expired medications to a Drug Take Back Day collection site protects you, your family and your community. There is also an environmental benefit as drugs collected are kept from being flushed into our sewer system or buried in our landfills.

Stop by the Cross Plains Police Department at 2417 Brewery Rd, and drop your items into a bin. That's it! No questions asked.

What can be disposed of?:

  • Capsules
  • Creams
  • Inhalers
  • Non-aerosol sprays
  • Ointments
  • Pills
  • Patches
  • Vials
  • Pet Medications

Please empty all pill containers into a plastic ziploc bag and recycle your pill containers. If you are dropping off liquids or creams, they may remain in the original container, but also sealed in a plastic bag to avoid spillage.

We cannot accept:

  • Illegal Drugs
  • Needles/Sharps
  • Mercury Thermometers
  • Biohazard Materials
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Acids
  • Plastic Pill Containers

Please note that if you are not able to make it to the event, the Cross Plains Police Department always has a med drop location inside the building. You can stop by any time during normal business hours to drop off inside.
