Any person who keeps chickens and/or ducks in the Village shall obtain an annual license prior to January 1st of each year, or within 30 days of acquisition. The keeping of chickens and ducks is governed by Ordinance 21.11 and Chapter 84 of the Village Code of Ordinances.
The applicant is solely responsible for the well-being of the chickens and/or ducks, condition of enclosure, and full compliance with Village Ordinance 21.11. The license is subject to all municipal codes in addition to all rules governing animal control. The applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Village of Cross Plains and its officers, officials, employees and agents from and against any and all liability, loss, damage, expenses, costs, including attorney fees arising out of the activities performed as authorized by the license, caused in whole or part by any acts, negligent or otherwise, or any omission of the applicant, anyone directly or indirectly employed by the applicant or anyone whose acts on behalf of the applicant may be liable, except where caused by the sole negligence or willful misconduct of the Village.
